Terms of Service

LinxHound is operated by Vidja.io ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms of Service govern your use of the LinxHound platform. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What LinxHound Is

LinxHound is a software service for creators and small businesses. It provides:

• Monitoring of links you publish, with automatic switching to a backup destination when a link stops working.
• A hosted public profile page, with optional blog and content pages.
• Visitor analytics for the pages you publish.
• An optional Tip Jar that lets your visitors send you money.

LinxHound is software delivered over the internet. It is not a payment service, a bank, or a money transmitter. All card payments are processed by Stripe.

2. Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to hold an account.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• One person or organisation may hold an account. Accounts may include additional team members, whose actions bind the account holder.

3. Plans, Billing, and Renewal

• Paid plans are billed monthly in advance, in Canadian dollars (CAD), unless stated otherwise at checkout.
• Current plans and prices are published on our site and shown before you confirm any purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You authorise us to charge your payment method on each renewal.
• Prices may change. We will give at least 30 days' notice before a change affects your renewal, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
• Taxes may be added where required by law.
• If a payment fails we may retry it and may suspend paid features until payment succeeds.

4. Cancellation

You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals. Your paid features remain available until the end of the period you have already paid for. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

5. The Tip Jar and Payments to You

If you enable the Tip Jar, the following applies:

• Tips are processed by Stripe. To receive them you must complete Stripe's onboarding and accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement.
• Stripe collects your identity and banking details directly. LinxHound never collects, receives, or stores your banking details or government identification.
• Each profile page that accepts tips has its own connected Stripe account. If you operate several pages, each one is onboarded separately.
• We deduct a platform fee from each tip. The percentage depends on your plan and is shown in your account before you enable the Tip Jar. The remainder is transferred to your connected Stripe account.
• Stripe pays you out to your own bank account on Stripe's schedule. LinxHound does not hold your funds and does not control payout timing.
• You are responsible for any tax arising on money you receive.

6. Acceptable Use

You may not use LinxHound to:

• Break any law, or infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy.
• Publish or link to content that is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, hateful, or sexually exploitative of minors.
• Sell or promote goods or services prohibited by Stripe's Restricted Businesses list.
• Solicit money under false pretences, or misrepresent who is receiving a tip.
• Distribute malware, or link to destinations that do so.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, or interfere with its operation.
• Scrape, resell, or redistribute the service without our written permission.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches this section, and may do so immediately where there is risk of harm or of loss to us, our payment providers, or other users.

7. Your Content

You keep ownership of everything you upload or publish. You grant us the licence needed to host, display, and deliver it as part of running the service. You are responsible for having the rights to what you publish, including any link destinations and affiliate relationships.

8. Our Content

The LinxHound software, brand, and design remain ours. These Terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you.

9. Third-Party Services

The service relies on third parties, including Stripe for payments and an email provider for delivery. Their handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy. We link to destinations you configure; we do not control them and are not responsible for their content.

10. Availability

We work to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. Where a change materially reduces what a paid plan provides, we will give reasonable notice.

Link monitoring is performed on a schedule that depends on your plan. We do not guarantee that every broken link is detected immediately, nor that a backup destination is always available.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account for breach of these Terms, for non-payment, or where required by law. On termination your public pages stop being served. We may retain records we are required to keep, including payment records.

12. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, or that link monitoring will prevent lost revenue.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vidja.io is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including consumer rights you may have where you live.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Vidja.io against claims arising from your content, your link destinations, your use of the service, or your breach of these Terms.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will notify account holders by email or in the application before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the courts of Canada, except where the law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
