Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how LinxHound, operated by Vidja.io ("we", "us", "our"), uses cookies and similar storage technologies when you visit LinxHound.com.
1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and other browser-based storage mechanisms. These are used to remember preferences, maintain sessions, and provide functionality.
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and UK PECR, both cookies and local storage are treated as similar technologies requiring disclosure and, in some cases, consent.
2. Technologies We Use
2.1 Local Storage (Essential)
We use your browser's local storage to maintain your authenticated session. This is essential for the platform to function.
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| linxhound_token | Stores your JWT authentication token for platform access | Until you log out or the token expires |
This is not a cookie but is disclosed here as it serves a similar function. Without this, you would need to log in on every page load.
2.2 Functional Storage
We may use local storage or cookies to remember your display preferences.
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| theme_pref | Remembers your selected visual theme (if applicable) | Persistent until cleared |
2.3 What We Do Not Use
- We do not use third-party analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics).
- We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.
- We do not use social media tracking pixels.
- We do not share cookie or storage data with any third parties.
3. Third-Party Cookies
LinxHound does not currently set any third-party cookies. If we introduce third-party services in the future (such as analytics or payment processing), this policy will be updated before any new cookies are deployed, and consent will be obtained where required.
4. Consent
Because we only use essential storage required for the platform to function (your authentication token), we rely on the "strictly necessary" exemption under the ePrivacy Directive and UK PECR. This means we do not need to obtain your consent for these storage operations.
If we introduce non-essential cookies or tracking in the future, we will implement a consent mechanism (cookie banner) before doing so.
5. Managing Browser Storage
You can control and manage cookies and local storage through your browser settings:
- Clear Local Storage: Open your browser's Developer Tools (F12), go to the Application tab, and clear Local Storage for LinxHound.com.
- Clear Cookies: Use your browser's privacy settings to clear cookies for LinxHound.com.
- Block All Storage: You can configure your browser to block all cookies and local storage, but this will prevent you from logging in to the platform.
Browser-Specific Instructions
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal with requests. Since we do not perform any cross-site tracking or use advertising cookies, this signal does not change our behaviour — we already do not track you.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies or similar technologies changes. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. If we introduce non-essential cookies, we will notify you and obtain consent before deployment.
